Refund policy

G.K. Lee Photography provides creative services — photography, videography, and related content work. Nothing physical is sold or shipped, so there is no return process. What follows explains how payments, retainers, and refunds are handled.

What you are paying at checkout

Booking a session charges a non-refundable retainer of fifty percent (50%) of the agreed service fee. Your checkout total reflects that retainer, not the full price of the session. The remaining fifty percent (50%) balance is due on or before your session date and is invoiced separately.

Retainers are non-refundable

The retainer holds your date. Once it is paid, that date is removed from availability and turned away from other clients, which is why it is not refundable — including where a session is cancelled by the client, where the client does not appear, or where the client chooses not to proceed after booking.

Rescheduling

You may request a new date with at least seventy-two (72) hours' notice before your scheduled session. Retainers may be transferred to a new date at the photographer's discretion and subject to availability. A requested date is not confirmed until the photographer confirms it.

Failure to appear for a scheduled session without adequate notice may result in forfeiture of amounts already paid.

Weather and circumstances outside anyone's control

Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled where weather makes conditions unsafe or impractical. Where a session cannot proceed for reasons outside either party's reasonable control — severe weather, illness, emergencies, venue closures, and similar — reasonable efforts will be made to agree an alternative date rather than to cancel.

Where a session has already begun and must be stopped for safety or other reasons outside the photographer's control, the balance for the booked services remains payable. Everything successfully captured up to that point will be delivered under the normal editing and delivery terms of the booked package.

Cancellation by the photographer

In the rare event the photographer cancels a booking outright and no alternative date can be agreed, any retainer paid for that booking will be refunded in full.

Delivered images and video

Because galleries are delivered digitally and cannot be returned, delivered work is not refundable. Editing is performed at the photographer's artistic discretion unless specific requirements were agreed in writing before the session.

If something has gone wrong with your gallery — files that will not open, images missing from a delivered set, or a delivery that does not match what was agreed in writing — contact the studio and it will be corrected.

Add-ons

Add-ons such as rush editing, additional locations, additional outfits, studio add-ons, and travel attach to a session and follow the same terms as the session they are booked against.

Raising a problem

Contact the studio directly before anything else. Most issues are resolved quickly once they are known about. Contact details are on the Contact information page.
